    Sunday Bloody Sunday

The 13th November saw the first "Bloody Sunday" happen in London in 1887. This was a demonstration against coercion in Ireland and to demand the release from prison of MP William O'Brien, who was imprisoned for incitement as a result of an incident in the Irish Land War. The demonstration was organised by the Social Democratic Federation and the Irish National League.

With that in mind here is your Friday Five for Friday 13th November 2009.

As ever, copy the questions into your own blog, answer them, leave a comment here to say you've done it!

    1. Have you ever taken part in a demonstration?

    2. Is there an issue you'd protest against now?

    3. Through-out history there has been an event that has lead to every day at one point or another being called "Bloody." What's the worst day of the week for you?

    4. There have actually been eleven Bloody Sunday events around the world, the last one (1972) leading to a song by U2. Which world wide event would you like to see a song written for?

    5. The one person I'd like to see in prison is …………………… for the crime of … ?

With eighty-eight days between the mid-autumn equinox (23/9) and the mid-winter solstice (21/12) the 6th November is considered to be the end of autumn and the beginning of winter. It's also the birthday of Nigel Havers, PJ Proby, Sally Field and Rebecca Romijn.

With that in mind here are your Friday Five for Friday 6th November 2009.

As ever, copy the questions into your own blog, answer them, leave a comment here to say you've done it!

    1. Do you have a favourite part of autumn?

    2. "It's too cold to snow!" Do you think it ever is?

    3. Do you feel there is still a place for British Summer Time or should we just stop changing the clocks?

    4. Are there certain meals you only eat in certain seasons (salad in summer, stew in winter)?

    5. Autumn is...?

If you're like to suggest five questions or a topic please PM me.
